Premier League clubs are interested in signing Paris Saint Germain winger Lucas Moura, according to reports.
Lucas is finding life difficult in Paris after finding himself on the bench following the arrival of Angel Di Maria from Manchester United last summer.
L’Equipe claims Premier league clubs are monitoring the winger’s situation at PSG and will try to lure him to England when the winter transfer window opens next month. It is claimed that Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are the English clubs monitoring the winger.
Lucas was close to joining Manchester United when he was 19 but PSG moved quickly and snapped the winger with a fee of £36.1million, a move that got former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson angry.
Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has said on several occasions that he is looking to inject pace and creativity into his squad and the Red Devils could now move for Lucas who had previously passed a medical at the club before his move to PSG.
Chelsea however was linked with several creative midfielders early in the season and the West London club could move for the PSG wide man should the opportunity arise.
Chelsea reportedly had a £32.4 million bid rejected for the midfielder when he was at Sao Paulo in 2012 (via the Dailymail) before they eventually signed Eden Hazard from Lille.
With Eden Hazard craving for a more central role, the Blues might do well with Lucas’ pace on the Flanks.
Lucas is currently used as a super sub in PSG and the winger is keen to remain in Europe should he leave PSG.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
