Jonjo Shelvey is suspended for the trip to Anfield, so Leon Britton and Ki Sung-yeung could continue in central midfield for the Swans.
Garry Monk may decide the hand Jack Cork a recall, though, with Britton likely to be the one to miss out. With both Bafetimbi Gomis and Eder looking short of confidence, Monk could opt to hand Andre Ayew a chance as the lone striker.
That would allow Wayne Routledge, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jefferson Montero to start in the three attacking midfield positions in the 4-2-3-1 formation.
Alternatively, Monk may keep Ayew in a wide role, dropping Routeldge to the bench, with Gomis perhaps earning a recall in place of Eder.
Kyle Naughton and Kyle Bartley struggled against Bournemouth last time out, so Angel Rangel and Federico Fernandez could come back into contention, with Jordi Amat appearing less likely to force his way into the starting XI.
Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor are expected to keep their starting berths at the back.
