Sky Sports football pundit Matt Le Tissier believes Manchester United were devoid of quality in their attacking player in the draw against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night’s Champions League.
The Red Devils had a fairly okay first half against PSV Eindhoven when they had some scoring opportunities with Lingard, Schneiderlin failing to connect properly to score when they had the chance to.
United had the best possession of play throughout the first half of the game and created more scoring chances but failed to really trouble the PSV back-line with any dangerous play .
The team really lost its shape when Bastian Schweinsteiger was substituted for Fellaini in the second half; the Belgium is not gifted with controlling play or spreading passes like the German and so United lost possession and allowed PSV to get into the game.
The United bench had Juan Mata, Andreas Pereira, Ashley Young and Fellaini as probably the best options to come in, it goes to show how poor in quality the United squad truly is. Mata was kept in the bench till the 86th minute before he was brought on.
Check the United attacking line up and no player would strike fear into the opposition defence, Wayne Rooney is a shadow of his former self, Anthony Martial is still relatively new while Jesse Lingard has not done enough to be recognised as a threat.
