Chelsea are preparing a shock bid for former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is considering signing a striker when the transfer window opens in January.
The blues current strikers are struggling to live up to expectations, its almost December and Chelsea strikers has just 6 goals between them this season. Diego Costa has four goals in all competitions while Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy have one goal a piece.
With Gonzalo Higuain, Edison Cavani and Antoinne Griezmann being linked to the blues, Mourinho believes he has to rights to ask for a record signing in January and has turned attention to Emmanuel Adebayor as a short term solution to his striker’s problem.
The Guardian reports that Chelsea are looking to fix their forward line temporary and Mourinho sees Adebayor as an option.
Chelsea were also linked with the Togolese last season as the blues searched for replacement for club legend Didier Drogba. The West London club eventually went for Radamel Falcao while Adebayor was released by Tottenham in the summer.
The Togolese has been without a club since leaving Tottenham while Falcao has flopped at Chelsea and the blues are willing to terminate the Columbian’s loan deal and move for the former Tottenham forward.
The striker scored 96 Premier league goals in 224 appearances with Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.
