The race for Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook is heating up.
Manchester United are tracking Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cooks. The Sun reports that the Red devils scouts have been keeping tabs on his performances ahead of a possible move. Cook is out of contract in 2017 and could be prized away with £7 Million bid. The Daily Star says Stoke City and Bournemouth have joined the race to sign Championship sensation cook.
United are not the only top premier league side interested in Lewis Cook, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City all tracking the 18 years old midfielder who is been described as the new Paul Scholes. It is the Red devils who is looking to ‘steal a march’ on their rivals in the chase for the playmaker.
ESPN report that Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal is keen to build his side around young talents such as Anthony Martial. Cook could blossom at Man Utd; with the other crop of youngsters gradually being given their chance at shot at first team appearance in United. Jesse Lingard is gradually becoming a first team player and even earned his first senior team call up in the friendly win against France at Wembley.
Cook was a member of the victorious England European Championship U17 team of 2014 where he played a key role.
He made his first championship start in August 2014 and ended up making 37 appearances for Leeds United, winning the Championship young player of the year 2014/15 award and was also nominated for the Championship player of the year award.
