Chelsea are in advance talks with Reading to cut short the loan deal of star defender Michael Hector according to reports.
Hector who joined the Blues after they moved to pip Crystal Palace for his signature in the summer, loaned him back to the Royals for the season.
Chelsea who have already conceded 23 goals(9 more than the newly promoted Watford) in just 13 games this season are in dire need of some reinforcement. That figure also puts dem 15th in goals conceded column.
A settled back line is obviously known as one of Jose Mourinho’s ingredient to a successful team, as seen last season with Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill and Azpiculeta starting over two thirds of last season’s matches.
This season however has been characterised by frequent changes in personnel and position, experiment of Zouma at left back coupled with the latest example seen at the weekend as youngster Kennedy started at left back only shows Mourinho’s dissatisfaction with the performances of his defenders.
Hector who started d season poorly like his Chelsea teammates has however recovered and began to put in impressive showings again, no wonder he received glowing remarks from his captain n manager.
“Michael’s played the last few games now and is looking really good, We’re developing a good understanding” said Reading’s captain and defense partner.
His manager had this to say “Michael reads the game well, he sticks his head on the ball, can makes tackles and can pass out from the back as well.”
Hector could come in and have an impact like that of Coquelin at Arsenal after cutting short his loan deal at Charlton one year ago.
