Manchester United offered Gareth Bale’s agent £14.2 Million in order to broker the Wale’s man exit from Real Madrid last summer, according to reports in Spain.
United Executive vice Chairman, Edward Woodward is determined to bring world class stars to Old Trafford and Bale is seen as one of the most viable option in the market.
Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett was offered £14.2 Million to ensure that the Wales star moved to Old Trafford and he was desperately trying to convince the winger to make a move. Although the deal didn’t come to fruition, Bale has continued to be linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams and could finally seal a move to the club next summer.
The 26 years old started as a youth player at Southampton in 1999 where he was initially a left back before signing for Tottenham Hotspurs in 2007 for £7 Million scoring 5 goals in 40 appearances for the Saints. Bale was converted to a winger after his impressive pace and eyes for goal were noticed by Harry Redknapp. He represented the London club 146 times, scoring 42 times within a six year spell with the club.
He is currently the world’s most expensive player after making a switch to Real Madrid for a record £85.3 Million.
United would be an entirely different team with Bale in the side, he already has premier league experience, he is lightning fast, he creates assist for team mates and can strike the ball with incredible speed and accuracy. Rooney, Bale and Martial up front would send shiver down the spine of opponents.
