Chelsea are keen on signing West Brom forward Saido Berahino when the transfer window opens in January, according to reports.
The Blues are currently shoping for a striker as Jose Mourinho intends to strengthen his strike force after seeing his side fall out of the title race from the very beginning of the season.
The England sensation was in brilliant form last term and was a subject of transfer bid from Tottenham last summer but the Baggies were not keen on selling the 22 year old.
Berahino then tried to force a move to White Hart Lane but West Brom were determined not to let the striker leave for less than their £25million valuation, a price tag Tottenham refused to pay.
Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer as much as £20million for the striker when the transfer window opens in January.
Berahino’s contract at West Brom expires at the end of next season and a move to the Premier league champions will be very attractive for the 22 year old.
The blues are set to terminate Falcao’s loan deal in the January transfer window and the club’s scout are already working hard to identify possible replacements for the Columbian. The blues have been linked with the likes of Alex Texeira, Jonathan Calleri, Robin Van Persie.
West Brom are reportedly preparing for Berahino’s exit and have identified QPR’s Charlie Austin as a replacement for the 22 year old.
