Chelsea defeated Norwich City 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. It was a thrilling encounter and we take a look at the Blues performance on the day.
The goalkeeper was rarely threatened and had little to do but he did his part well when called into action.
The defender returned to the starting xi after recovering from an harmstring injury that kept him out of action for more than seven games. He had his best performance this season for the Blues. Disciplined in defense and gave nothing away.
A much composed performance from the veteran out there. Was calm on the ball and dealt comfortably with everything Norwich threw at him.
Another good performance from the youngster. Was an attacking threat in set pieces today and saw a flick from Willian’s free kick hit the cross bar. He was also solid defensively.
Deployed at left back, the youngster had a great game. Showed quick foot and enthusiasm going forward, was a constant threat down the left flank, he also did well defensively.
A better performance from the Serbian this time, he protected the back four well and did his bit going forward, drew a great save from Ruddy.
Controlled the game well with his superb range of passing.
Pedro: 6.5 (FoTM)
He was the least effective of the attacking midfielders, was replaced by Oscar late in the second half.
Had a decent outing, could have done better with his set pieces though.
Hazard: 8.5 (MOTM)
A superb performance from the Belgian, he was a constant threat to the Norwich defence, kept the ball well and went past players with ease. He was key to Chelsea’s victory today.
Diego Costa: 7
Took his goal well. He could have done better in his all round play.
Kept the ball well as he helped Chelsea preserve their one goal lead.
Introduced late in the game and had little time to make an impact.
Brought on as a defensive move by Mourinho, he didn’t have enough time to make an impact.
