Manchester United have finalized the deal to bring in highly rated teenage prodigy, DJ Buffonge.
Buffonge played for Fulham up to the U18 squad, leaving in 2015. Comfortable playing all across the midfield, DJ is technically good with the ball at his feet with pace to match.
He moved to Manchester United during the summer of 2015. The Londoner became available in the summer when his contract ran out at Fulham after spending five years going through the youth ranks at Craven Cottage.
The former Arsenal youth product had a trial with United once the Reds were alerted to the fact he was available and has impressed the coaches at Carrington, including Nicky Butt.
He made his debut in United’s Under 18s first match of the season back in August in a 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion. He continued in Paul McGuinness’ side for the following match at Altrincham against Everton’s youth team in a 3-1 defeat.
Who then is He?
Full Name : Darren Raekwon McIntosh-Buffonge.
Age : 17
Position : Midfield.
Before Fulham: DJ had previously played for Arsenal’s academy before his move to Fulham
DJ made his breakthrough to the U18 squad in the tail end of 2013-14, as U16 players got the chance to step up in the league fixtures due to the main squad taking part in the FA Youth Cup’s latter stages. He became part of the U18 squad, however, the following season despite still technically an U16 player.
His third game before the end of August was against Derby County, again at Altrincham, in a 3-1 win.
Sadly the teenager suffered a groin injury against County and hasn’t played since.
“He’s a talented young player,” Under 18s coach McGuinness told MEN Sport.
