Chelsea are preparing a January transfer bid for Lyon Striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.
The Blues have struggled to replicate their Premier league winning form of last season this term and they sit 16th on the Premier League table after 12 games.
Mourinho is reportedly unhappy with the Blues transfer activity in the summer despite the club bringing in Spanish international Pedro from Barcelona as their only mega summer signing. The blues also signed Asmir Begovic from Stoke City, Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco, Baba Rahman from Ausburg and Papy Djilobodji joined on deadline day.
But the blues manager is set for a major squad overhaul and Mourinho is willing to spend big as he tries to turn his team’s fortunes around.
Alexandre Lacazette, who was top scorer in Ligue 1 last season is reportedly high on Mourinho’s wishlist and the Blues will try to break the bank for the striker when the transfer window reopens in January.
Arsenal and Liverpool were linked with a move to sign the French striker last summer, but the player chose to remain in Lyon but he could be tempted to move to Stamford bridge in the winter transfer window as Roman Abramovich’s club is desperate to sign a striker due to the poor form of Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao.
The 24 year old has featured ten times for the French national team scoring just once. The striker scored 30 goals in 36 appearances for Olympic Lyon last season and he won the French Player of the year award.
