Chelsea are already making moves to bring in Jose Morinho’s replacement at Stamford bridge, should they decide to part company with the Portuguese manager.
The blues manager was publicly backed by Roman Abramovich earlier in the season but the Portuguese was warned that he must reassert himself back in the dressing room and results must change as soon as possible if he wants to hold on to his Job.
Chelsea have reportedly considered the possibility of bring Atletico Madrid’s boss to Stamford bridge, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Argentine is under contract with Atletico Madrid until 2020 and the Spanish club is not willing to part company with their manager.
However, Chelsea face competition from the Argentine Football Association who wants Simeone to come back to his homeland to manage the Argentine national team.
Simeone is said to have break clauses in his contract that will enable him leave the Spanish club at the end of the season.
Abramovich is willing to give Jose Mourinho the chance to turn things around at Chelsea but the Russian oligarch will be forced to axe the Portuguese if results doesn’t change anytime soon.
Chelsea suffered their seventh league defeat this season in the hands of Stoke City mouting pressure on the Portuguese.
