Barcelona youngster Sergi Samper has reportedly caught the interest of Manchester United and Arsenal.
The 20 years old has found it hard to break into Louis Enrique’s first team squad, and Samper’s situation has alerted the English Premier league duo; although Stoke City attempted to sign the player during last transfer window but the player rejected the move.
According to the Metro, Manchester United are ready to beat Arsenal to the signature of Sergi Samper. Samper has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in the last two transfer windows with the Gunners boss believe to be a fan of the player.
The Daily Star says United have joined the race for his services and want to sign him after Samper appeared to have impressed the United scouting team that were present to watch him represent Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey against Villanovense which ended 0-0.
United invested an initial fee of £36M on relatively unknown 19 years old Anthony Martial and he is proving to be a bargain as he is one of United’s best players so far this season; investing in Samper, whose buy-out clause is just £8.5M would be a risk worth taking, as he is referred to as the next Sergio Bousquet due to his tackles and ability to intercept play.
