Manchester united goes into this fixture on the back of a win in the UEFA Champions league against CSKA Moscow. The red devils have been winless in their last 3 domestic outing and failed to get on the score sheet in any of those games. West Bromwich Albion is also coming into this encounter on the back of a defeat at home to high flying Leicester city 2-3.
This fixture has offered some interesting viewing spectacle for the fans, In Sir Alex Ferguson’s last game in charge of the red devils; both sides played out an amazing 5-5 draw at the hawthorns. Last season however the Baggies took four points from United; drawing 2-2 at home and picking up a surprise 0-1 win at Old Trafford.
United would be looking to get back to winning ways in the league and put pressure on leaders Manchester city and Arsenal who sits 4 points above the red devils, United would be hoping to avoid a similar performance that led to the Baggies picking up a win at Old Trafford at United’s expense.
Louis Van Gaal is expected to name a strong side baring fresh injuries to players in training before the game. Maybe the midfield would be re-shuffled to give rest to either Bastian Schweinsteiger or Michael Carrick to partner Morgan Schneiderlin.
With no new injury worries after the match against CSKA Moscow Coach Louis Van Gaal will be looking to choose from an almost fully fit squad. Antonio Valencia is still doubtful for the match after missing out against CSKA Moscow but long term absentees Luke Shaw and Paddy McNair are certainly out. Phil Jones should be on the bench after not playing in the mid-week.
