New York City midfielder Frank Lampard has ruled out a loan move back to England this season. Lampard’s MLS season is over and some Premier League club have been linked with a move for the Former Chelsea and West ham midfielder.
The 35 year old told Sky Sports: “No – not as it stands. I’ve had a very long season-and-a-half almost. I didn’t get much of a break this year. Before that I was at the World Cup where I didn’t play much but during that time I’ve played a lot of football.
“It’s very important for me, particularly at this stage of my career, to have a bit of a rest. It will be nice to have a bit of family time over Christmas and then have a good pre-season. When I arrived at New York I didn’t have a good preseason behind me. I tried to rush it and got injured. Next year it’s important I prepare well.”
The midfielder scored over 200 goals for Chelsea and is currently regarded as a Legend in the club.
Lampard recently stated that Chelsea need leaders in the clubs and many Fans will be excited to see Lampard back in the club as his experience will go a long way in getting the team back on track.
