Stoke City vs Chelsea: 4 Chelsea Players With A Point To Prove Against Stoke

Stoke City hosts Chelsea on Tuesday night in a Capital One Cup game; and we look at four Chelsea players with a point to prove in the match.

Eden Hazard

The Belgian was crowned the PFA and FWA player of the year last season for his superb performances as he helped his team win the Barclay’s Premier League trophy; but the Belgian’s form has dropped significantly that his commitment to the club has been questioned of recent after liking a post on instagram linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Belgian was touted as the next best thing in world football after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and all those praises now look like “overhype” as the player struggles to perform for his club.

The 24 year old has a lot to prove against Stoke City if he still wants to be seen as the club’s golden boy or if he still wants to be counted amongst the very best in world football.

Baba Rahman

The Ghanaian moved to London from Augsburg last summer for a fee of about €20 million but has been unable to play his way into the first team pictures at Stamford Bridge. The defender would most likely start at left back against stoke, and he needs to seize this opportunity to impress the manager if he is going to get into the first team picture anytime soon.

Radamel Falcao

With an all important Premier league fixture coming up against Liverpool next weekend, Jose Mourinho will be tempted to rest his star striker Diego Costa.

Falcao will most likely be given the opportunity to start upfront, the striker must impress his manager as the Portuguese begins to consider options to bolster his striking department when the transfer window opens in January.

Ruben Loftus Cheek

The academy product was promised game time by Jose Mourinho after the club’s defeat to Southampton. The youngster started against Villa but was subsequently withdrawn at half time and Mourinho claimed that Loftus Cheek does not have the tactical discipline to carry out defensive duties.

Loftus Cheek will be involved in the game against Stoke on Tuesday either from the start or from the bench and he needs to impress his manager if he is going to enjoy a good run of games anytime soon.
