Chelsea and Manchester United could miss out on the signing of Spanish midfielder Koke after his agent ruled out an exit from Atletico Madrid.
The Daily Star reports that Chelsea and Manchester United are set to miss out on the Spanish midfielder after his agent revealed that his client is more than happy to remain in Madrid.
The Premier league duo alongside Barcelona are said to be amongst the midfielder’s biggest admirers.
As reported by Metro, his agent was quoted saying:
‘His stance today is to stay at Atletico Madrid, the deal with the club is extraordinary. We have no reason to think otherwise,’ said his agent Inaki Espizua.
‘The buzz has always been there. We’re talking about a top player, it is normal that big clubs want to sign him.
‘He appreciates the affection of the fans very much. It was one of the turning points when he thought about his departure, which at the moment isn’t happening.’
The 23 year old is a product of the famous Atletico Madrid academy and has made over 200 appearances for the club since breaking into the first team. The Spanish international was part of the Atletico Madrid squad that won the 2013/2014 la liga title.
