Manchester United is set to rival the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea for England U21 star Saido Berahino. Louis Van Gaal side wants to move for the West Bromwich Albion striker when the transfer window opens in January according to the Daily Star.
Berahino was close to switching West Brom for Tottenham last summer, the striker submitted a transfer request as he was determined to leave the Baggies for North London but the move was rejected by West Brom who didn’t want to lose the player. Berahino vowed never to play for West Brom but has now been persuaded by manager Tony Pulis to go back on his decision.
The striker is in impressive form this season and is said to be attracting interest from Manchester United. The 22year old is highly regarded in England and is considered one of the top talents in the country. The striker scored 20goals in 45 appearances last season and has scored three times in seven appearances this season.
Louis Van Gaal is said to be keen on bringing the young striker to Old Trafford as competition for Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney. The Red devils must act fast to sign the striker to avoid competition from Tottenham. The North London club is said to return for the striker when the transfer window opens in January.
