Chelsea played a goal less draw with Dynamo Kiev in their Champions’ league group G match, yesterday, we take a look at the player’s performances.
Asmir Begovic: 7
The Bosnian had a commanding display, he was called into action on few occasions and was equal to the test.
Kurt Zouma: 5.5 (FoTM)
The Defender played at right back in the absence of injured Branislav Ivanovic. He struggled at right back, he looked awkward and was lost at full back.
Gary Cahill: 6.5
He was left on the bench against Aston Villa but returned to the starting xi and had a Solid and Composed performance at the back, showed good understanding with John Terry.
John Terry: 6.5
The Captain made his third start in a row, strong and commanding in defence, looked more like the Terry-Cahill partnership of last season but there is more room for improvement.
Cesar Azpilicueta: 6.5
He was switched back to left back to deal with the threat of Kiev’s star man Yarmolenko, the Spanish international defended well and linked up well with Hazard.
An improved performance compared to his previous games this season, he protected the back four well, launched attack and even made a good run in the first half and was unlucky not to have gotten a goal.
Solid performance from the Brazilian again. Provided energy and athleticism in midfield.
An improved performance from the former Barcelona player, he should have had a penalty. He did well but can still improve his game.
Willian: 8 (Motm)
Had 2 efforts on goal and was unlucky to see his superb free kick hit the crossbar. He is becoming more important for Jose Mourinho’s side and is taking more responsibilities in the squad.
Returned back to the starting xi after Mourinho warned him to defend better, hit the post with a well taken strike but had limited contribution in the game.
Diego Costa: 5.5
Wasn’t involved in the game as he would have loved to be, but another hard working display upfront
Replaced Fabregas with 15minutes left to play but made no contribution to the Blues game.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
