Arsenal have not agreed a fee to sign Shkodran Mustafi yet, according to reports.
On Thursday, it was reported that the club had agreed a £35m to sign the defender with a medical scheduled for Friday but a contradictory report has emerged today.
According to Spanish Outlet Super Derpote via the Daily Star, Valencia are still considering Arsenal’s £35m bid.
It was claimed the Spanish club had accepted the bid but Derpote claims it is yet to be accepted.
However, it is still likely that Arsenal would sign the defender before Tuesday’s deadline as the new bid is tempting to the Spanish side.
Arsenal have also been boosted by the fact that Valencia are now considering a move Ezequiel Garay as a replacement Mustafi.
Arsenal are confident of signing Mustafi and last weekend Wenger said that he was hopeful the club would complete a deal for the German as soon as possible.
” Mustafi? We hope it will be done. He is one of a number of players we are looking at. Negotiations are ongoing.”
Wenger has already drawn up a three man shortlist of centre backs which includes Mateo Musacchio, Kostas Manolas and Shkodran Mustafi as he steps up his attempts to sign a defender before Tuesday’s deadline.
