Liverpool are preparing a January transfer move for Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, according to report.
Liverpool have been linked with a move to sign a quality goalkeeper to provide competition for Simon Mignolet who has been inconsistent in his performances since moving to Anfield from Sunderland. Summer signing Adam Bogdan has failed to provide quality competition for Mignolet since he joined from Bolton in August.
And now Turkish publication Kralspor claims the Red are interested in signing Muslera in the winter transfer window.
The report claims the Merseyside club are willing to pay as much as £15m for the 29 year old goalkeeper.
Muslera was linked with a move to Manchester United as a replacement for David De Gea who was close to moving to Bernabeu but Man utd didn’t pursue a move for the Uruguayan goalkeeper after the De Gea to Madrid move failed.
However, Liverpool could find it difficult to sign the goalkeeper after Galatasaray’s president Dursun Ozbek revealed he wants to keep hold of the goalkeeper and has no intention of selling him.
The goalkeeper has made over 151 league appearances for the Turkish giants and was the Turkish Super Lig Player of the Season, an award that was given by the Professional Footballers Association.
