Hiddink To Bring Romelu Lukaku Back To Stamford Bridge As First January Signing

Chelsea Legend Didier Drogba have asked the club to resign former striker Romelu Lukaku, according to the Daily Star.

The report claims the former Chelsea striker has urged Guus Hiddink to make the Belgian his first January signing and he believes the young Belgian will be an ideal replacement for Diego Costa at Stamford bridge.

Lukaku was sold by Mourinho in 2014 for a fee of £28m and prior to the Portuguese sacking he was quizzed on the sale of the striker, however the striker has defended the Portuguese actions. Speaking with the Guardian, the striker said:

“Choices were made by me. By me. Not by them,”

“Everyone says it is Mourinho’s fault but it is not his fault because I made the decision. I went to his office to ask if I could go. He was the first one to say: ‘Good luck.’

“I signed the deal with Everton at 11 o’clock and the first text message I got on my old BlackBerry was from Mourinho saying: ‘Good luck, do your best and I will see you next season.’ He was the first. Nobody knows that and that is why for me he gets immense respect. It is really sad he has to go.

The striker has scored 23 league goals since joining Everton permanently and already has 16 goals to his name this season while Chelsea strikers are currently struggling to find the back of the net.
