Besiktas are monitoring Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas and could move for the centre back when the winter transfer window opens, according to reports.
The report sites Spor Kahvesi as their source and it claims that the defender is high on the Turkish club’s wish list as Besiktas boss Senul Gunes is keen to bring in a defender next month.
The defender is currently on loan at Middlesbrough but that hasn’t stopped the Turkish club from watching the versatile defender.
In October, the defender’s agent agent Viktor Kolar claimed Besiktas are interested in his client and would table a bid to sign the 22 year old on a permanent deal in the summer, as per Squawka.
The agent said: “(The Besiktas) management wants to see (Kalas) in their squad in the summer. Currently, there is no definite situation but Besiktas may look hot.
“However, until the end of the football season we should not forget the Middlesbrough (loan) agreement. (He) plans to continue his career in England in the first place.
“But next season if Chelsea can be seen as less of a chance to form plans to reshuffle his career, Besiktas wants to see him in the summer.
“For now, it would not be right to say anything definite about the transfer but at the end of the season, Besiktas may look hot.”
However, Besiktas defensive problems which have seen them concede 18 goals already this season could see them bring their plans for Kalas forward to January.
The defender joined Chelsea in 2010 and has since then had loan spells at four different clubs.
