Chelsea have made an offer to sign Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, according to the Metro.
The Blues are currently in search of a long term replacement for Jose Mourinho who was relieved of his duties early in December. The Portuguese was sacked six months after leading the Blues to the premier league and league cup triumph but results taking a downturn this season meant the Portuguese had to say goodbye to his job.
However, Chelsea have employed Guus Hiddink on an interim basis while they search for a long term replacement and the club has earmarked Guardiola as one of their top targets.
According to the Metro, the Blues have made an offer to Guardiola offering him the chance to move to West London next summer.
Manchester City are reportedly leading the race to sign the Spaniard. It is claimed that Guardiola has friends at Manchester City who he worked with at Barcelona and would be keen to work with them again but Roman Abramovic is ready to do whatever it takes to convince Guardiola that Stamford bridge is the right place for him.
The Blues are set to face added competition with Paris Saint Germain also interested in signing the former Barcelona man as per the reports.
Guardiola’s profile as manager is the type that Abramovic is looking to bring to Stamford bridge next summer, the 44 year old already has 2 champions league titles, 5 league titles and 3 league cups in his managerial spell at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich
