A source at Real Madrid have confirmed the Spanish giants are still interested in Manchester United’s David De Gea according to the Daily Star.
De Gea was close to switching Old Trafford for the Bernabeu last summer but the 25 year old saw the move fall through as Real Madrid and Manchester United were not able to complete the official process required before the transfer deadline passed.
According to Daily Star, an insider in the Spanish club has confirmed to Starsport that the club are still interested in the goalkeeper and will return with a bid for the Spaniard next summer.
“Real Madrid will not attempt to sign David De Gea in the January window.
“But the club is proposed to sign him in the summer for next season.”
The Goalkeeper signed a new deal with Manchester United in September and the new deal contains a £40m pound release clause which the Madrid based club is more than happy to activate next summer, as per the report.
De Gea joined Manchester United from Atletico Madrid in 2011 under Sir Alex Ferguson and despite struggling to adapt to the challenges of the premier league at the beginning, the 25 year old has gone on to become one of the best goalkeeper in English football. he has made over 137 league appearances for Manchester United since 2011 which shows how important the 25 year old is at Old Trafford.
