Serie A outfit Lazio is interested in taking Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on loan until the end of the season, according to reports.
Italian newspaper Corriello dello sport via the Daily express claims Lazio believe they will be able to sign Zouma on a loan deal in January.
The report claims Lazio are looking to sign a defender in January as they attempt to beef up their defence and they have identified Zouma as their priority target.
it is claimed that the exit of Mourinho is the reason Lazio are confident on signing the player as the Italian club believes Zouma’s first team chances will be reduced as a result of the departure of the Portuguese.
Zouma has been a regular in the Blues side ousting Gary Cahill from the starting xi and has formed a decent partnership with club captain John Terry in the heart of the Blues defence.
Zouma signed for Chelsea from Saint Etienne in January 2014 but spent the remainder of the season on loan at the French club.
On arrival at Stamford bridge the next summer, Zouma was almost farmed out on loan but Mourinho decided against loaning the defender in the last minutes and the 21 year old has gradually established himself at Chelsea and he is now being touted as Chelsea future centre back.
Zouma has made 50 appearances and scoring four goals for Chelsea since joining the West London club with 24 of those appearances coming this season.
