It’s approximately a week to the winter transfer window, Chelsea are set to step up their chase for premier league’s in form striker Jamie Vardy, according to reports.
The England international is currently the league’s top scorer and have scored 15 goals for the Foxes this term.
Vardy was understood to be on Mourinho’s January transfer wish list and many thought the club won’t be pursuing a move for the striker since the departure of the Portuguese.
However, it has been reported that the Blues new boss Guus Hiddink has ordered the club to sign the 28 year old in January and the Telegraph now reports that Chelsea are set to splash £30m on the striker.
The report also claim Manchester City are also interested in the striker but not as much as Chelsea.
Leicester City are not interested in selling the 28 year old striker and are willing to offer him a new contract with a pay rise in other to deter interested clubs but Chelsea won’t be deterred and will continue chasing the striker even if he signs a new contract, as per Telegraph.
It is also claimed Manchester City will only make a bid for Vardy if they lose Aguero to injury again.
Vardy will be eligible to play in the Champions league should they move to any of Manchester city or Chelsea.
