Liverpool are interested in signing Martin Caceres from Juventus, according to the Metro.
The Reds are believed to be interested in signing the defender who is out of favour at the Italian club.
According to the Metro via Fichajes, Liverpool boss is interested in improving his squad when the winter transfer window opens and the German tactician believes the South American defender will be a good addition to his squad.
It is claimed that Klopp is looking to add the experience of the versatile defender as he hope for a strong finish to the end of the season.
Caceres is seen as a necessary addition to the Liverpool squad as Kolo Toure is set to leave the Anfield club at the end of the season.
The defender’s versatility is also another reason why Klopp is keen on his services as it is believed that the 28 year old will be able to provide cover and competion for various positions in the Reds backline.
The Uruguay defender is regarded as a ball playing centre half who suits the style of the current Reds boss and the defender would offer pace and technique at centre back which is something Martin Skertel and Dejan Lovren lacks. Caceres played for Barcelona between 2008 and 2010 before moving to Juventus in 2012.
Should Caceres move to Liverpool in January, his experience of top flight football will definitely be useful to the Reds.
