Chelsea are interested in signing Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, according to reports.
The Blues are interested in signing a striker and has identified Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and West Brom’s Saido Berahino as potential transfer targets.
But the Mirror now reports Christian Benteke has been added to the list of premier league proven strikers which the Blues are interested in signing.
The Belgium international has struggled to adapt to Jurgen Klopp’s style of football and this could allow the Blues swoop for him in January.
Prior to the Red’s game against Watford, Klopp confirmed the striker was struggling and has encouraged the striker to adapt his game quickly.
Klopp believes Benteke is a good striker but there is still a lot of work to be done concerning the development of the striker.
Chelsea were interested in signing Benteke last summer but eventually moved for Radamel Falcao. The Belgian striker moved to the Liverpool in a £32.5m deal from Aston Villa but has struggled to adapt to life in a bigger club partly due to injuries and change in manager.
Chelsea’s strike force have been poor this term with Diego Costa scoring just 3 league goals this season and the club is ready to sign Benteke who was in superb form last season for their new boss in order to turn their season around.
