Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone could be on his way to Stamford bridge after it was revealed that the 45 year old would be interested in stepping into the vacant managerial post at Chelsea.
The West London club parted company with their manager Jose Mourinho- who is regarded as the best manager in the club’s history and has been replaced by Guus Hiddink on an interim basis.
Chelsea Owner Roman Abramovich has set his sights on a number of top managers in Europe and Simeone is reportedly one of the managers on the Russian’s wish list.
According to Daily Mail, Simeone is interested in taking over the Job at Stamford bridge and he is ready to listen to the Blues offer ahead of a summer move.
The Argentine manager will cost Abramovich £15m to release him from his Atletico Madrid’s contract but the fee shouldn’t be the problem, a bigger issue is the fact that Simeone doesn’t speak English.
However, the 45 year old believes he can do a good Job at Stamford bridge despite the Language barrier as his assistant manager German Burgos speaks English and he could communicate to his players via Burgos.
Simeone has been a success since joining Atletico in 2011 and has built a reputation as one of the best manager’s in the world after leading Atletico to Copa del rey and La Liga titles as well as the 2014 Uefa Champions league final which they lost to Real Madrid in the last minutes.
Simeone’s Atletico is currently having a superb season in Spain and have won their last five games in a role.
Atletico Madrid sit second on the la liga table level on points with Barcelona who occupy the first position.
