Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Karim Benzema’s contract situation at Real Madrid, with the striker indicating a wiliness to leave the Santiago outfit in January, according to reports.
Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez wants the player to remain at the Santiago Bernabue after rebuffing a move from Arsenal during the summer for the French international and he is keen to have the player stay with Real Madrid.
According to the Daily Mail, sources close to Benzema say he has been underwhelmed by a perceived lack of support from some team mates at Real Madrid over the Mathieu Valbuena sex tape affair in which he has become embroiled and is open to a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea would do with a player like Benzema to help revive their season; the Blues have been heavily reliant of Spanish striker Diego Costa, who has been struggling for fitness and a deep in form.
Benzema can equally hold up play, create chances and even score them, which is the most important thing in football; the Blues will face stiff competition from the Citizens who are thought to be in need of another striker to support the injury prone Sergio Aguero and the misfiring Wilfred Bony.
City allowed Edin Dzeko to join AS Roma while Nagredo returned to Spain to join Valencia, they often call on Nigerian youngster; Kelechi Iheanacho for inspiration sometimes and he has not disappointed so far.
