Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Pep Guardiola following their 2-1 loss to Bournemouth, according to reports.
According to ESPN, Manchester United have contacted the former Barcelona boss regarding a potential move to Old Trafford and the report claims the contact between Manchester United and Guardiola has been “significantly upgraded” hoping they can lure the Spaniard to Old Trafford.
The report claims Van Gaal could be shown the exit door next summer despite his contract at the club expiring in the summer of 2017.
It is also claimed that Manchester United chiefs feel they had waited for too long and it could be too late to snap up the manager as they believe he has already set his heart on taking over the managerial job at Manchester City.
Louis Van Gaal has come under criticism from Manchester United fans after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth which makes it five games without a win for the Red Devils. Louis Van Gaal’s side were dumped out of the Champions league after the loss to Wolfsburg just 3 days before the defeat to Bournemouth and fans are already calling for the Dutch man to be sacked.
Guardiola’s contract at Bayern expires at the end of the current season.
