Jurgen Klopp made two adjustments from the side which beat Swansea for the trip to Newcastle last time out, with Joe Allen and Lucas replacing Adam Lallana and the suspended Emre Can.
Allen and Lucas combined at the base of midfield. James Milner (left) and Jordon Ibe (right) played out wide, with Roberto Firmino tucked in the number ten role behind Christian Benteke.
Klopp is without Daniel Sturridge for the visit of West Brom to Anfield, with the striker ruled out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury picked up following the Newcastle defeat. Benteke will hope to retain his place in attack after dropping to the bench for the midweek Europa League stalemate.
Divock Origi offers an alternative here, along with Firmino should he not be deployed out wide or in an attacking midfield role.
Can should return to the midfield engine room with Allen likely to make way. Lucas will hope to retain his place in the midfield engine room should Klopp stick with a 4-2-3-1 formation, though the fit-again Jordan Henderson is a further option.
Further forward, Philippe Coutinho is fit again following a hamstring injury and is expected to return to the starting XI on the left-wing, with James Milner perhaps shifting back to the right and Ibe dropping out.
Adam Lallana will also be pushing for a recall on the flanks.
Martin Skrtel, Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Alberto Moreno are expected to continue as part of an unchanged back four.
Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, Mamadou Sakho and Jon Flanagan remain long-term absentees.
