Chelsea are making considerable efforts to improve their front line when the transfer window opens in January and the blues have been told they can sign Shakhtar Donetsk striker Alex Teixeira for a fee of £30million.
The Brazilian is in superb form this term and has scored 23 goals in all competitions for Shakhtar this season.
Teixeira is one of the numerous strikers on Jose Mourinho’s wishlist as the blues try to get their season back on track by improving their front line.
The Sunday express reports that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to back his club in the January transfer window as the club prepare to spend their way out of trouble. The blues however are set to kick start their spending spree by tabling a £30million bid for Teixeira.
The blues are desperate to sign a striker in January as a result of the poor form of Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao.
Mourinho wants Teixeira to compete with Diego Costa for the starting spot.
Teixeira’s switch to West London will eventually end Radamel Falcao’s loan spell at Chelsea as the club will have to terminate the Colombian’s loan deal to provide space for Teixeira in the squad.
