Liverpool are monitoring Thomas Muller’s contract situation at Bayern Munich with a view to a potential move for the player, according to reports. The Reds want to use their German connection in the form of Jürgen Klopp to carry out their intended bid for the player which Bayern will most likely turn down.
Liverpool’s arch rivals; Manchester United have attempted to sign Muller with series of bids, the latest of which was a £75 Million pound bid which Bayern Chief; Rummenigge repeatedly turned down. Klopp has very little effect on luring Thomas Muller to Anfield; being a German doesn’t mean Muller would quit Bayern Munich, a club with which he has won the German Bundesliga, DFB Pokal Cup, UEFA Champions league, World Club Cup etc.
Muller would probably leave Bayern Munich for a crazy bid and huge Weekly pay; something Liverpool cannot offer at the moment, thereby making their approach for the World Cup winner a futile attempt.
Muller has become an integral part of the Bayern Munich attacking set up and would rather opt for a re-union with Louis Van Gaal; a coach that reportedly gave him his chance at Bayern Munich and also team up alongside National team mate and current captain of the German national side, Bastian Schweinsteiger at the Theatre of Dreams.
