Totteham vs Chelsea: 4 IMPORTANT Things The Blues MUST DO To Beat Spurs At White Hart Lane

Chelsea will face high flying Tottenham Hostpur at White Hart Lane on Sunday, we look at four things Mourinho and his men must do to defeat Pochettino troops.

The blues must be Ruthless in front of goal

Its no news that the blues have struggled to score goals this season, in their recent game against Norwich, they could have won with a greater margin but they ended up winning by a lone goal as a result of their wastefulness in front of goal. Well, this is a London derby, a game with so much Rivalry, a wasteful team is usually punished for being wasteful when it comes to derby games. Jose Mourinho’s men must take their Chances as they come if they are going to leave White Hart Lane with all three points.

Superb defensive performance

The blues must put in a defensive masterclass if they are going to triumph on Sunday. Totttenham have one of the best striker in the EPL in Harry Kane and the striker will sure cause problem for Chelsea defense. Jose Mourinho’s men will have to keep a close eye on the striker. Kane punished Chelsea are White Hart Lane last season with his pace and movements, the blues centre backs will have to be at the top of their game if they are going to keep the striker mute. Along with Kane, Christian Eriksen and co are also dangerous on their day, it will take a superb defensive performance to nullify the threat of Tottenham attacking players.

Keep things tight at the middle

When the blues faced Tottenham at White Hart Lane last summer, it ended 5-3 in favour of the North London club. Tottenham ran riot for majority of the game and controlled the midfield, the blues were outclassed in the midfield battle and if Mourinho’s men are to avoid such embarrassment this time around, they must do better in midfield. there shouldn’t be any gaps between the midfield and defense for Tottenham’s attacking player’s to exploit. The blues defensive midfielders will need to keep things tight at the middle. A strong base will be the spring board to a Chelsea victory on Sunday.

Give Eden Hazard the free role

The Belgian is still the best player in the Chelsea squad, he showed that against Norwich City last weekend. The Belgian has been inconsistent this term and his added defensive work has allowed his attacking contributions suffer, if Chelsea must get the Belgian ticking on Sunday, he must be given a free role in other to cause the Tottenham defense problems. Hazard is capable of producing magic on his day and Mourinho will be hoping the Belgian will come out blazing on Sunday.
