Chelsea are interested in signing Newcastle youngster Jamaal Lascelles, according to reports.
The Daily Mail reports that the Newcastle defender has caught the attention of Chelsea scouts and the club is considering tabling a bid for the defender as they want to add more English players to the squad.
Lascelles joined Newcastle United from Nottingham Forest last summer and has since then made just 3 substitute appearances for the magpies in the Premier league but has started two league cup games.
Before moving to Newcastle, the defender was linked with a move to Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers but his performances for Newcastle this term has been impressive.
Chelsea are keen to bolster their centre back options after failing to sign Everton John Stones last summer. The Blues signed Papy Djilobodji and Micheal heactor. The former has made just one substitute appearance for the West London side but Hector was loaned back to reading for the rest of the season.
It is Unlikely that Lascelles will be a regular if he moves to West London in January but he is definitely one for the future as the club is keen to bring in more English talents.
