Chelsea are considering a move for Tottenham full back Danny Rose, according to reports.
The Blues are planning to rebuild their squad after a dreadful start to the current Premier League campaign and the club are considering adding more English players to their squad.
The Blues were linked with a move for Danny Rose last summer but the West London club refused to make a concrete offer for the English man and instead went for Ghanian international Baba Rahman.
Rahman has failed to secure a spot in the Blues starting xi despite Branislav Ivanovic’s poor form and the Blues are now considering moving for Danny Rose as they look to increase the number of home grown players to their squad.
Rose will compete with Baba Rahman for the left back slot in a move that will see Cesar Azpilicueta return to the right back position that he was initially brought to West London for.
It was believed that Chelsea were prepared to offer close to £15 million for Rose last summer and should Mourinho’s side renew their interest in the defender it wouldn’t take less than that fee to convince Tottenham to part with their first choice left back.
Chelsea and Tottenham have bad blood between themselves in terms of transfer dealings after Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy refused to sell Luka Modric to the blues in 2011 despite the blues tabling a bid in excess of £40million for the Croatian international.
A move for Rose will be the first transfer business between the two club’s since the Modric incident and it remains to be seen if Daniel Levy will be prepared to let the Left back join the West London side.
