Chelsea have been cleared to sign Shakhtar Donetsk striker Alex Texeira if they cough out £30million.
The Brazilian is currently the top scorer in Europe having scored 19 times in 13 league appearances this term.
Texeira is understood to be on Jose Mourinho’s January wishlist and the blues will now have to pay a huge fee for the striker if they are to get him in January, according to the Evening Standard.
In October, the striker stated he will be happy to move to West London should Chelsea table an official bid for his services, saying: “I have an offer, it was a pleasure to know that Chelsea want to sign me. It would be great if the transfer happens in January.”
With the Poor form of Diego Costa, the blues are looking to strengthen their strikeforce when the transfer window opens in January. Mourinho is in search for a striker who would provide enough competition and cover for Diego Costa.
Radamel Falcao has failed to impress at Stamford bridge after failing to live up to expectation at Old Trafford last term. Falcao moved to Chelsea with the hope of getting his career back on track but has so far unimpressed at Stamford bridge scoring just 1 goal.
Loic Remy in the other hand is yet to score a league goal for the blues this term.
Texeira’s switch to Stamford bridge will most likely see Radamel Falcao end his loan stint at Chelsea in January.
