Manchester United are interested in bringing Gareth Bale to Old Trafford according to reports.
Reports say that the Red Devils would be looking to pay up to £100 million to sign the Welsh international from Real Madrid.
United has been a long term admirer of Bale’s talent since his time at White Hart Lane, with a bid to sign the left wing wizard reportedly tabled; but the player preferred a move to Spain.
Bale is the world most expensive player in history, eclipsing the amount Real Madrid paid to secure the services of United legend Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009 for a then record fee of £80 million.
The Welshman has had a mixed time in the Santiago Bernabue, helping the Los Blancos to win the UEFA Champions League against City rivals Atletico Madrid 4-1, scoring in the process and also scoring a solo goal against Arch Rival Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey final.
He had a tough second season at Real Madrid, where some sections of the fans were jeering him whenever he gets on the ball and there was a rumoured beef between Bale and world footballer of the year Cristiano Ronaldo.
United needs a player in the mode of Gareth Bale to run the wings, He is very fast, creative and have an eye for scoring and setting up goals.
He already has Premier league experience and doesn’t need to adapt as he was once crowned the Professional Footballers Award (PFA) player of the year and Young Professional Footballers Award of the year in the same season.
United would look more of a title contending team with Gareth Bale in the squad to provide the much needed width lacking in the team since Van Gaal took charge.
