Manchester United Ecuadorian international, Antonio Valencia could be out for a s much as five months with a foot injury. Valencia picked up the injury in the derby against neighbors Manchester City.
Reports stated that the 30 years old may have aggravated the foot injury when he continued playing with the injured foot instead of coming off at once immediately he got injured. Ashley Young had been deputizing at the right back position for the red devils with Matteo Darmien also out injured.
The Ecuadorian posted an image of him on his twitter account and could be out of action till April next year. United already have defender Luke Shaw out injured on a long term and now Valencia too has joined the growing list of injured defenders. The Red devils called youngster Cameron Johnson-Borthwick into the first team for the win over Westbrom.
United travel to high flying Watford City after the international break; with Young looking likely to continue deputizing at the right back position, although Coach Louis Van Gaal could opt to partner Chris Smalling with Dutch international Daley Blind at the heart of the United defense while Phil Jones could be drafted to the right back position depending on the coach’s plan for the game. United cannot afford another injury to it’s already injury plagued defense line.
