Manchester United Boss, Louis Van Gaal has reiterated his stance to sign wide players with pace and creativity. Reports are linking the Red devils with Bayern Leverkusen winger Bellarabi; who is also a target for Arsenal. The 25 years old German international that holds the record for the fastest goal in the history of the German Bundesliga when he scored against Borussia Dortmund after just 9 seconds.
Arsenal are said to have moved ahead of their Premier league rivals by opening talks with the players representative over a potential January move. The Gunners failed to sign an outfield player in the transfer window and have been hit with series of injuries to many of their players. Wenger is looking to beef up his squad as they hope to retain a realistic chance of winning the premier league for the first time since 2004.
But United would be a stumbling block in Arsenal’s bid to sign Bellarabi; United sold Mexican international striker, Javier Hernandez (Chicharito) to Bayern Leverkusen this season and could capitalize on that relationship to convince the Club to sell Bellarabi to the Red Devils ahead of their Rivals.
Bellarabi is contracted to Leverkusen till 2020 and could leave for a fee of around £15M which is a huge bargain; considering the player’s growing profile in the German league. The Gunners are also eyeing Benedikt Howedes on a double swoop.
