Bayern Leverkusen attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is a transfer target for Manchester United when the January transfer window opens. The Turkish international has been in a rich vein of form for Bayern Leverkusen this season.
According to Metro, United could seal a deal for the Bayern Leverkusen midfielder with a bid of £28.9M. Leverkusen’s club CEO Michael Schade reported to German tabloid that the club do have a slim hold of the player but wish they could keep hold of the talented 21-years-old.
Calhanoglu is contracted with Bayern Leverkusen till 2019 but a fee of £28.9M would have the German club enter into negotiation with United even though the player’s contract does not have a release clause attached to it.
Hakan Calhanoglu has made a name for himself as a free kick specialist, the player admitted that turning down a move Spanish giants Barcelona or English premier league side Manchester United and he would consider an offer if any of the two clubs come bidding for him, but for now nothing of such has happened.
The Turkish international has lots of potential to be a world beater; a star for the foreseeable future and he would be a valid addition to the Red devils squad as the team aim to get back to the years of winning trophies while continuing in its transition under Louis Van Gaal.
