Former Arsenal and England Striker, Ian Wright has urged Chelsea to sell Diego Costa due to his poor form this season.
Costa was in superb form in his first season in England, scoring 20 league goals despite missing most of the season with injuries and suspension but the Spaniard has only managed 2 goals in 10 appearances this season.
Former gunners striker Ian Wright has urged to Chelsea to sell him at the first opportunity the get claiming he is the last centre forward the West London club needs at this point.
“I would sell him at the first opportunity I get because, as brilliant as he was in the first season, he is playing differently.
“He seems a little bit more antagonising. The first season he got here he was focusing on scoring goals, being in the box.
Now he’s outside the box, he’s getting involved with people.
“I believe at this moment now, he’s the last centre forward you need. You need a centre forward who’s going to get on with it, stretch teams and cause teams problems in the right way.”
Although Ian Wright might be overly critical, but it is obvious that Chelsea do have a problem in their striking department. Diego Costa has been off form and sometimes looks unfit in the pitch, Loic Remy has not consistently impressed on the pitch and Radamel Falcao has failed to make the grade in the premier league for the second time.
It is reported that Chelsea are looking to upgrade their striking options in January with former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez and Valencia’s Paco Alcacer being linked with a move to Stamford bridge.
