Chelsea are interested in bringing former Real Madrid striker, Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.
Chelsea could bring in Higuain as a replacement for Diego Costa who has struggled to replicate the form he showed at Chelsea last season.
The Mirror reports that the blues have made the prolific Argentine their top target in the summer as they look to replace Diego Costa who have been disappointing this season.
Diego Costa has just 2 league goals to his name this season despite the fact that at this point last season he already had 11 league goals to his name. In the summer, it was reported that Costa didn’t fully adapt to life in London and is looking for a way back to Spain.
However, the striker’s form and Radamel Falcao’s inability to live up to expectations has made the blues struggle to score goals this term, the blues are now keen to look at the possibility of improving their strike force.
The blues will try improve their strike force in January on a short term basis but scouts in the club have been told to identify a striker to fill the senior striker role at the club ahead of next season.
Jose Mourinho’s side are currently struggling this season, having lost seven league games already this season and sits second on the Uefa Champions league Group G log table.
Diego Costa has been one of the poorest performers in the blues squad this term as the striker prefer winding up defenders.
Mourinho’s side currently sits 16th on the premier league table after a poor start to the season.
