Chelsea midfielder John Swift is keen to extend his loan spell at Brentford.
Swift wants to stay with Brentford in the Championship until the end of the season. The Chelsea youth academy product was loaned to Brentford on a short term deal and has impressed in the Championship side.
He told Sky Sports: “I’d love to stay until the end of the season, it’s a good experience for me.
“I’ve been at Chelsea since I was 14 and I’d love to break into the first team, but obviously I’ve just got to keep doing what I’m doing now.
“Keep playing, keep getting the minutes, and hopefully in the next couple years I’ll go back and see what happens.”
The midfielder joined Brentford on an initial 1 month deal but recently extended the deal until the january transfer window.
“He has been a very good addition to the squad,” Brentford head coach Lee Carsley told the Championship club’s website.
“It is important he doesn’t rest on his laurels. His work-rate has been outstanding and if he wants to stay in the team he has to maintain that.”
Swift has had loan spells at Rotherham United and Swidon Town before joining Brentford.
