Chelsea Keen On Tough-Tackling Polish Defender To Solve Defensive Crisis In January

Chelsea are reportedly looking at the possibility Signing New York Red Bull defender Matt Miagza. The player is said to be interested in a move to the Premier League.

The 20 year Old was targeted by Stoke City and Leciester City last summer, accoring to Fourfourtwo.

The 20 year Old Potential has seen him being compared to Former Netherlands International Jaap Stamp and the player believes he can make it in the Premier league.

‘I’m aware of all those rumours, but at the moment I don’t want to focus on that,’ Miazga said of reported approaches from Chelsea, Stoke and Leicester.

‘The ultimate goal is to play on the highest level, but right now I’m happy in New York.

‘I can still grow here and become a better player. When the time comes – I will be ready for Europe.

‘The EPL is a very intriguing proposition. I love that league, it’s very competitive and there’s a lot of passion involved.

‘Hopefully one day I will have an opportunity to play there. I believe my skill-set fits the way football is played there.’

Jose Mourinho’s side is in search of a Centre defender as a future replacement for John Terry who is struggling for form this season.

Miagza joins a long list of centre defenders monitored by the West London Club. Chelsea are also watching Everton’s John Stones, PSG’s Marquinhos and Romas Kostas Manolas.

Miagza played 26 games for New York Red bulls in the Last MLS season and is said to have impressed blues scout with his performances. The defender Joined the MLS outfit in 2009 and since then has become a regular in the club’s side.
