Young SC Heerenven FC defender Jerry St. Juste has reportedly caught the attention of Manchester United.
The 18 year old is aware of the red devils interest in him and insists he is not carried away by such interest. Juste was quoted as saying he has read about the interest of Man united but he isn’t doing anything about it as there are always people at the stands and there is always someone watching you he quoted.
With Chris Smalling the only standout performer for Manchester united so far this season in the heart of LVG’s defence, United would welcome an additional player to help in that department. Phil Jones is always not reliable due to his constant injuries, same with Marcos Rojo and Paddy McNair. Daley Blind is the only other option and he is not a natural centre defender.
Louis Van Gaal’s number one transfer target at the centre of united defence’s has been Mat Hummel’s, the German International was consistently linked with a move to united in the summer but the deal failed to materialise.
Jerry St. Juste has been compared to Real Madrid’s French defender Raphael Varane and he is seen as a star for the future and may go on to have a wonderful career.
What united need is someone who is vastly experienced and can provide immediate cover in case Smalling gets injured. United already have promising defenders in Tyler Blackett who is out on loan to gain more experience and Paddy McNair who is already representing Northern Ireland; so buying another youngster is not the immediate need the club should be focusing on at the moment.
