Real Madrid are monitoring Memphis Depay’s situation in Manchester united; the Dutchman has been struggling to replicate the form that made him the highest goal scorer in the Eredivisie last season which led to Manchester united splashing the cash for him in the summer.
Depay has shown flashes of brilliance in the early stage of the season with his goals in the qualifying round to the knockout stage against Club Brugge and on match day 1 when he got United’s goal against his former team PSV Eindhoven.
The 21 years old has lost his place in the starting line-up in recent weeks and he’s not taking his chances when he is being brought on as a substitute, he recently complained about his need to adjust to the physical nature of the Premier league.
He was recently dropped from his international side by Dutch coach Blind in their upcoming friendly matches against Wales and Germany. The head coach of the Dutch national side stated that Depay is selfish and not a team player.
With Ronaldo in his thirty’s, Real Madrid see Depay as the Portuguese international’s replacement. Depay will thrive in a less physical league as the Spanish league would offer him the chance to express himself freely. Reports have it that united would demand upwards of £64M if they are to let Depay leave
