Chelsea face Dynamo Kiev at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. The blues are desperately in need of a win, and we look at four things Mourinho and his men must do to win the game.
Resolve all Conflicts
The blues have started the season so poorly that it is being regarded as the worst start to a league season in the club’s history.
Jose Mourinho publicly criticized former club doctor Eva Carneiro on the opening day of the season. The doctor has since then left the club and reports claimed some staffs at the club and even players are not happy with how Mourinho handled the situation. The grievances regarding Carneiro exit continues to linger on as BBC radio live presenter Richardson recently claim that some players are not willing to win for the Portuguese any more. Jose must put his ego aside and resolve all conflicts in the club especially with his players if he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season.
The blues must retain possession of the ball
Before the game against Aston Villa, Jose Mourinho stated that fans should expect to see the team win ugly as he attempted to fix the blues poor start to the season, but so far it hasn’t worked out and that method seems to be causing the blues more trouble.
Chelsea surrendered possession after taking the lead against Liverpool, the blues couldn’t defend the one goal lead and eventually lost the game 1-3. Jose must ensure that his team does not give the ball away too much or take their foot of the gas if they happen to take the lead on Wednesday. It is often said that keeping the ball is the best way to defend and Jose must make sure his team keeps the ball better than the did against Liverpool on Saturday.
Return Matic to the starting xi
Nemanja Matic was left out of the starting xi for the game against Liverpool, Jose must recall the Serbian defensive midfielder to the starting line up on Wednesday to give adequate protection to the back four. The back four is currently struggling and they need protection. Mourinho must provide his team as much protection as needed if they are to be victorious on Wednesday.
Persist with Ramires
The Brazilian along with Willian have been one of the clubs best performers this season. Ramires offers the team energy at the middle at the park and the midfielder seems to be one of the only few players that is capable of pulling the club out of its current situation. Retaining Ramires in the starting line up is something Jose must do to ensure victory against Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday.
